ALL SPORTS STANDINGS (points awarded
) –
Calculated from State Championship Team Finals (not individual scores)

Because the OACA Awards Banquet is held in May, we use the previous year’s spring sports results and the current year’s fall & winter results to determine the winners.  For example, for the 2025 banquet, we will use the spring sports standings from 2023-24 and the fall and winter sports standings from 2024-25.

There are 6 All Sports Awards given each year – one for each classification. This includes every sport with both boys and girls results.

The following are criteria for how the All Sports standings are determined:

  1. At the end of every state championship tournament, points are awarded from 1st to 8th place with the champion receiving 16 points and 8th place receiving 2 points.  In the event of a tie, the points for each place are added and then split.  However, not every sport is calculated the same way.  For example, soccer uses a different point system than wrestling, with the champion and runner-up getting 16 and 14 points respectively, the two semifinalists getting 11 points each, and the four quarterfinalists receiving 5 points apiece.
  2. A database is kept of each classification, school, sport, and gender. The points are calculated and input into the database after each season.
  3. After all three sports seasons have concluded and the points have been calculated and input, the school with the most points in each classification is named this year’s All Sports Winner for their classification. The 6 winners (6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A) are presented a plaque and honored at our OACA Awards Banquet held in May.
  4. We publish the team results in our spring newsletter, as well as the top five girls teams and the top five boys teams in each classification.
