Westview, a proud member of the Metro League, is one of five comprehensive high schools in the Beaverton School District, a suburb on the west side of Portland. With a population of 2550 students, (9-12) and over 100 staff members, we have the highest number of National Merit Scholars in the state and have achieved a reputation throughout the state for academic excellence. Diversity is seen in all aspects of our administrative and teaching population, but is perhaps most evident among our 2550 students with 46 home-spoken languages, as well as cultural and religious differences.

The Metro League, part of the largest classification (6A) in Oregon, often places two or three teams in the top sixteen in the state. Westview’s football team has qualified for the playoffs the last ten years.

Westview’s athletic program is not fully funded so candidates who welcome the challenge and opportunity to build relationships in the community, and to direct and manage fund raising efforts will be given preference. Your excellent leadership and communication skills will also serve you well in building a strong youth program filled with future Westview players.

The community expectations for our student athletes are for them to have a full athletic as well as academic experience. Football training includes a comprehensive lifting program coordinated with our Ultimate PE class, two weeks of spring training in June, summer camp, seven on seven passing league, summer conditioning, youth camps, preseason camp, a Jamboree and then a playoff run every year. In addition to their football responsibilities, all athletes are expected to be engaged academically and to meet the high standards of student citizenship.
